May 2nd - 6th - Amsterdam 2007
Trams, Boats and Automobiles
Ten cars headed off this year for Amsterdam and we had a
blast!
Some highlights of the weekend were:-
- Smith and Jones running across the busy A3 to get to
the pub the night before we sailed.
- Clive Marshall's hilarious discovery whilst searching
for Bluetooth devices on the ferry (censored!!)
- A mad dash up the freeway from Calais to Amsterdam
- Keukenhof Gardens - Those cakes!!
- A certain episode on a tram on Friday evening (you know who you are).
- DJ Rickie's Red Light District antics
- John & Zoe's decline into alcoholism
- Goatee beards attracting the wrong kind of attention
- Dinner with the Dutch owners; more Asparagus anyone?
- Darrel has problems with his waterworks.
- Mike & Michelle's ghetto tours.
Sloshed and Slashed
The real lowlight was waking up on Saturday morning to
find that three of the cars' hoods has been slashed with a knife outside the
hotel. Luckily no contents of any real value were taken, but the upset and
expense of having the roofs done wasn't pleasant.
Some details have been hidden to save embarrassment; ask
me (Mike) for details .
Here are a few pictures taken during the trip.Including some taken at the Hotel Pulitzer of a very unusual scene.
The painting is so large that it is split up over four photos. See how many "out of place" items you can find. Sadly no prize for the winner!
