Our day started very well indeed a team of members met up at the Sainsbury car park at 09:30 in the morning, able and willing volunteers ready to set-up the MX5 tent and merchandise. As usual the ever reliant Clive (Southern) turned up in his van and we all travelled in convoy to the venue.
When we arrived there was already a number of MX5’s waiting for us and the weather was very nice albeit a bit on the cloudy side. It took us about 15 minutes to set up and we all mucked in (note the word mucked). After about an hour of sitting around chatting drinking tea, coffee, etc the sun had decided to disappear and the cloud rolled in, we were all a little apprehensive and said to one and other it’s not going to rain! Is it?

Well it did the heaven opened and it poured down with some thunder chucked in. It only lasted for about 20 minutes or so but that was enough, when the people started to walk on the grass it turned into a very mucky place.
Some of us bravely decided to take a look around and see what other exhibits there were it was a very good turn out and there were many different types of vehicles 57 clubs all told, motorbikes, stationary engines military vehicles are just a few to name, and a very good show performed by skilled acrobats along with other performances also a disco by Swansea Sound a fairground and much more. It was a great pity about the rain and the conditions as they deterred through the day, still we soldiered on Michelle selling her wares Clive selling his wares and all of us getting wet.

We were all a bit worried about Paul Chick as he was in near panic over his beloved MX5 SE special a very well polished car it is too. He was looking at the condition of it with a frown on his face, and he cleaned the car (again) and all the time seemed to be looking for an escape route.
He just had to get it back home to wash polish paint etc, eventually it became to much for him he asked Ros to help him escape there was a route out but the gate was locked they needed a spanner to open it. Paul darted thro the gate and Ros closed it behind him and was nearly caught by the marshal while sneaking away.

All in all it was a nice day out we all chatted and had some fun, and a few of us took off early me being one of them but long after Paul!!
I'm looking forward to the Margam park Rally next I am sure it will be one of the best.
