Sunday April 10th - Golf Day at St. Mary's

The log awaited Golf and Spa day finally arrived. Eight Golfers for a 12 hole game on the Kingfisher course at St. Mary's Golf Club and Hotel near Pencoed.

As an alternative to the Golf, Michelle, Jodie and Anouska went to the Esporta Health club near Bridgend for a bit of a pamper session.

I decided that to make the day more fun and enjoyable for the lesser golfers amongst us, we'd play Texas Scramble rules. In essence, this means that everybody gets carried along by the best player in their team. The original idea was to have four teams of 2, but Phil and Lesley got delayed on the Motorway, so we set of in two threes with Phil and Lesley bringing up the rear.

The teams were:-

  1. Tom, Paul and Steve
  2. Mike, Pete and Brian
  3. Phil and Lesley

This was the order of winning with MX-5 baseball caps going to Tom, Paul and Steve and a special prize of golf tees shaped like naked ladies for Pete.

The day was a lot of fun and the weather was very kind to us again. I think we will definitely do something similar again (after I spend about £200 on golf lessons that is).

Some pictures and even a video is included in MPG format - size 1.97MB - (the soundtrack of the video is worth a listen on its own).
